This dress is for Miss B who has been staying with us as her dad has to be out of town this weekend. She saw Sprite and I picking out fabrics for Sprite's summer wardrobe and requested a dress of her own. Since she is going home this evening, I sewed hers first.
The dress is the venerable Twirly dress in a size 5 with the slight modification in that I bound the neck instead of pressing and top-stitching. I don't like that method as it looks sloppy to me so I used the binder on my cover-stitcher instead. The sleeves are lettuced and the hems on the skirt and shorts are just a narrow rolled hem.
The shorts are from Kwik Sew Sewing for Kids. It is thanks to the Sew4Kids4Fun email list and Kwik Sew books that I learned to sew at all and I love both.
The fabric for both the skirt/shorts and the bodice were gifts from her aunt, so we thought that making the dress for Miss B from them was very appropriate.
No modeled shot this time as she's not my child and I'm not comfortable posting pics of another person's baby.
