First Day of School

I've got quite a crew, don't I? Don't they look excited to be starting school again? They were, actually. Well Coolboy was trying not to look scared spitless, but the girls were happy to be going back. Now that Coolboy has settled into the routine, he's calmed down and likes it, but it took a couple of days.

Our school district did away with year-round school for the elementary schools, but they still start earlier than most schools and they will still have a week or two break at the end of each quarter, so I'm not sure what the difference is. I am glad that all my kids will still be on the same schedule as it makes it easier to arrange work schedules as needed.

The girls are both wearing Mama-made. Divine's outfit is a Kwik Sew Sewing for Children pants and the Funky Sisters t-shirt from Ottobre. Sprite is wearing yet another Sew Baby Twirly dress -- I will be sewing those forever.

I haven't had a lot of time or energy to spend in the sewing room lately and what I have been doing has been mostly utilitarian. I made a new feeding bag for Divine Miss as her old one has disintegrated. It still needs work and I will take pictures when it is done. Though we have used it all week at school, it has a tendency to buckle under the weight of the feeding bag.

I also got a cool vintage ironing board from a Craig's List seller that I love. It is one of those that can bee a stepladder, chair and ironing board. More pictures of that to follow as well. I need to finish the cover on it as the cover it came with was dirty and ripped.

However, first I must finish studying for a certification exam I am taking for work. My manager wants us all to be certified in the software we use and the test is Monday afternoon. I may sneak into the sewing room for breaks, but mostly need to concentrate on SQL server tables and reporting.
